From Malaysia
There are flights to Banda Aceh or Medan from Kuala Lumpur (AirAsia) and Penang (Firefly)
From Indonesia
It is also possible to enter Indonesia through Medan on Sumatra. There are a number of international flights flying in from Penang, Ipoh, Malaka and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) (Garuda, Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, LionAir, Batavia Air, Air Asia and others), from Bangkok (Thailand) (Air Asia) and from Singapore (SilkAir, Jetstar Asia, Air Asia, Tiger Airways).

 Birding in Gayo Highlands Sumatra, You can booking the Birding in Gayo Highlands Sumatra with the Price in page with All in service. As an alternative option to reach Gayo Highlands (Takengon) from the airport, you can either take a bus (public transport) from Medan which should cost IDR 130,000 - 220,000 per person (will take about 12 hours) and from Banda Aceh (will take about 7-8 hours) which should cost IDR 130,000-140,000 per person or booked our car service for private air-con MPV car and driver which should cost IDR 850,000. The flight from Medan North Sumatra, you can also arrive in Malikus Saleh airport in Lhokseumawe District of Aceh Province.

 VISA INFORMATION
Since 8 June 2010 it is possible to obtain a 30 day Visa-on-Arrival at Banda Aceh Airport for 25 US$. Since 2010 you can extend your 30-day visa-on-arrival with another 30 days at any immigration office in Indonesia.


ACCOMMODATION and Others
In Banda Aceh and Medan is easy to get Hotel and Guest House. Most, but not all towns in Aceh, have at least a modest Hotel or Losmen (pension). Other words you often see are Penginapan, Wisma, Pondok Wisata, Guest House, Home Stay, Cottage, Mess, and Bungalow. All of them are accommodations; Wisma and Mess can sometimes be something else.
In most villages, however, there is seldom any proper accommodation. In such places there is normally a coffee shop/restaurant. Another alternative, especially in villages without even a restaurant, is to ask the village head. He will surely arrange something for you. Just remember to try and follow local customs as a way of showing respect and appreciation. If you are unsure, just ask. It will be very much appreciated.
We arrange local English-speaking guides for the Holistic Birding in Sumatra. A guide prices can always be discussed, depending on several factors, such as number of participants, length of trek and location, number of porters (if needed) and Bird target. Bring a copy of the passport and the visa stamp. For Birding in the Gunung Leuser National Park and Leuser Eco-system we also arrange a permit for you from Gunung Leuser NP authority.
